On October 27, Loomis Spain took part in the round table "Responsible Business Transformation: Regulation, Innovation and Corporate Purpose", an event organized by the Spanish-Swedish Chamber of Commerce and KREAB Spain in Madrid.

The event featured Sweden's Ambassador to Spain, Per-Arne Hjelmborn, and executives from major companies such as Volvo Cars, Securitas Seguridad and Swedish Match (Philip Morris).

The aim of the forum was to drive dialogue between Spanish and Swedish companies to share experiences on how to integrate sustainability, regulation, innovation and corporate purpose into business strategies. In an increasingly demanding environment, organizations that manage to turn their commitments into real action are the ones that move forward with consistency and leadership.

A responsible, evolving business model

During his talk, Rafael Moyano, CEO of Loomis Spain, explained how the company has managed to evolve from a traditional cash transport and management model into an ecosystem of secure, sustainable technology solutions.

"The way money is used changes, but its value remains. Our responsibility is to keep cash accessible, free and secure for everyone." — Rafael Moyano, CEO of Loomis Spain.

With more than 150 years of history and a presence in 22 countries, Loomis has built its leadership on a foundation of trust, innovation and social commitment. In Spain, the company has established itself as a benchmark in comprehensive cash management, offering solutions ranging from the secure transport and custody of money to the automation of counting, reconciliation and deposit processes.

Connecting cash with the digital world

One of the standout pillars of this transformation is the integration of physical and digital money. Loomis has committed to technological diversification and the acquisition of companies specialized in points of sale (POS), electronic payments and fintech solutions

Thanks to this strategy, the company is now able to connect both worlds —cash and digital payments— through its e-money institution, which enables it to offer card issuance, account management and secure payment operations.

This integration makes Loomis a key player in the payments value chain, facilitating the transition toward more accessible, traceable and sustainable financial models, without giving up the social value of cash.

"Our purpose is clear: to make the use of money easier, safer and more sustainable. Cash isn't disappearing, it's transforming." — Rafael Moyano

The company applies the principle of "Security by Design", which guarantees the protection of information and traceability at every operational step. This approach strengthens corporate security and fosters a culture of ethical compliance that runs through every area of the business.

Commitment to sustainability and operational efficiency

Environmental and social sustainability is an essential part of Loomis' strategy.

Among its most notable initiatives are:

The renewal of its vehicle fleet to reduce emissions and move toward cleaner, more efficient mobility

Route optimization through digital tools, reducing consumption and operational time.

The automation of internal processes to minimize paper use and promote 100% digital document management.

Investment in cleaner energy and fuels

These actions form part of a global corporate sustainability plan aimed at reducing environmental impact, improving energy efficiency and ensuring responsible operations across the entire value chain.

A purpose aligned with society

Loomis' role in the economy goes beyond financial services: it helps maintain the stability, trust and accessibility of cash for the entire population.

Cash remains a factor of economic inclusion and freedom, especially relevant for unbanked groups or those with less digital access.

In this regard, the company reaffirms its commitment to a business transformation that combines purpose, innovation and sustainability

As Rafael Moyano highlighted during his participation in the event:

"Our mission is to ensure that money —whether physical or digital— remains a secure, free and sustainable means of exchange. Because taking care of cash also means taking care of society."
